Venenzuelan Dorian Rios has an impressive resume including an EPT title and was the runner-up in the WSOP Monster Stack this year and now he now has the overall chip lead in Day 1 of the 2016 PPC Aruba World Championship.

Rios bagged 198,000 chips for the top stack of Day 1B.  William Beer took second with 153,400 chips followed by Ron Blasczyk with 142,500.  Dale Jones was fourth with 142,000 and Tim Brice rounded out the top five with 126,300.

Other notables advancing include Shawn Barnett with 90,600 chips, Freddie Kirkland bagging 86,900, PPC Poker Tour Ambassador Ronnie Bardah with 78,100, Evan Teitelbaum scoring 78,100, Steve Karp with 74,300, Steve Trizis with 48,500, Steven “Mondo” Fuhrman with 41,700 and Aristoteles Neto with 31,700.

48 players advanced out of Day 1B taking the total number of players returning for Day 2 up to 101.  Another 122 entries were added in the flight taking the final total for the Main Event to 266.  Everyone who advanced to Day 2 will be back in action on Sunday at 1 PM.
