$2,400 NLHE Main Event (Re-Entry)
Level 20: 5,000/10,000/1,000 Ante
Players Remaining: 12
Ryan Van Sanford entered the Main Event here in Aruba with $966,594 career lifetime live poker earnings, a record amassed over 49 previous cashes. In order for Van Sanford to have surpassed $1,000,000 in lifetime earnings, he would have had to finish in fourth or better in the Main Event. Sadly, RVS will have to play another tournament before he reaches seven digits, as the Colorado native is out in 13th.
Van Sanford was short stacked and backed into a corner on his final hand, as Jim Beadnell had been on an absolute tear through the outer table in recent levels. Beadnell raised to 22,000 from middle position with Sanford in the small blind. When he looked down at :Ax :Qx, he instantly went all in for his last 250,000.
But it was Michael Lerner in the big blind that would be the end of Van Sanford, who went over the top and forced Beadnell out of the hand. Lerner flipped over :Ax :Kx in the big blind. Another King on the flop and many blanks on the rest of the board meant that Van Sanford is out in thirteenth place, a cash worth $6,417. That puts him at $973,011 lifetime. As the only events remaining in this year’s PPC Championship are the $1,100 NLHE $50K Guarantee event and the finale 5 Pack Satellite $300 Event 10, it seems less than likely he will reach seven digits here in Aruba.
