It looked like Ed VanLandingham was on his way to the PPC Poker Tour Champions of Champions Invitational title.  But after the heads-up match swung on a ten-high flush for Al Davis against VanLandingham’s nine-high flush, Davis rode the momentum all the way to the victory here at Maryland Live! Casino.

On the final hand, VanLandingham moved all-in for 24,000 chips and Davis quickly called.  Davis turned over and VanLandingham showed he was behind with .  VanLandingham was already giving Davis a congratulatory handshake but the flop came out giving VanLandingham an open-ended straight draw.  But his hopes were quickly dashed when the came on the turn giving Davis a stranglehold on the hand.  The came off on the river finishing the hand and giving the win to Davis.

Al Davis wins the PPC Poker Tour Champion of Champions Invitational title, a 2017 $5,000 PPC Aruba Package and a custom watch from Savoy Watches.  Ed VanLandingham finishes in 2nd place winning a $1,700 buy-in to the 2017 PPC Aruba World Championship Main Event.
