Justin Swanson – Event 1 Champion ($1,424 + $1,500 PPC Aruba Package)

Recap:
Mike Albert looked to be on cruise control taking a massive lead into the final table of Event 1 and had nearly half the chips in play with three players to go.  But Justin Swanson caught fire late pulling off a come-from-behind elimination of Mike Lang in third place closing the gap to 2:1 going into heads-up play.  Swanson then won a critical race against Albert and put him away a short time later to steal away the Event 1 championship and pack his bags for the PPC Aruba World Championship.

Chuck Marty – Event 2 Champion ($1,686 + $1,500 PPC Aruba Package)

Recap:
Two former third place finishers in the World Series of Poker Main Event – Dennis Phillips and Stan Schrier – and PPC Poker Tour Ambassador Mark Kroon were in the mix for our Seniors Event at Horseshoe Council Bluffs.  But it was Chuck Marty who stole the show.  Marty pulled off a double-elimination with six players remaining and took out Smokey Struss after Struss had just eliminated Kroon.  Marty’s dominant chip lead going to heads-up play was only challenged once after a double-up by Marvin Rumery.  But Marty and his chip stack were just too much to handle and Marty finished the job claiming the Event 2 title and a trip to the PPC Aruba World Championship.

Results:
1st: Chuck Marty – $1,686 + $1,500 PPC Aruba Package
2nd: Marvin Rumery – $1,044
3rd: Smokey Struss – $684
4th: Mark Kroon – $473
5th: Phil Maynard – $347
6th: Doug Hutcheson – $266

Total Prize Pool: $10,900 + $3,500 PPC Aruba Package + $4,500 in Bounties = $18,900

Tim Sciscoe - Event 3 Champion ($2,822 + $3,500 PPC Aruba Package)

Tim Sciscoe – Event 3 Champion ($2,822 + $3,500 PPC Aruba Package)

Recap:
Ron Koenemann headed into the final table looking like he was on his way to the Event 3 title.  But Tim Sciscoe took out three consecutive players to close the chip gap between himself and Koenemann.  Sciscoe then came from behind when he and Koenemann had both flopped trip queens to river a full house and wrest away the biggest pot of the tournament from Koenemann.  Koenemann’s hard luck continued as he went from chip leader to eliminated in a matter of four hands finishing in 4th place.  Henry Gingerich then knocked off the short-stacked Curt Smith who was on his second final table of the day setting up the heads-up match between himself and Tim Sciscoe.  Sciscoe held a 3:2 chip lead and what looked like what was going to be a protracted battle turned into an explosive finish when Sciscoe hit two pair on a flop that Gingerich hit top pair.  Sciscoe’s hand help up and he claimed the Event 3 title and a package to the PPC Aruba World Championship.

Results:
1st: Tim Sciscoe – $3,487 + $3,500 PPC Aruba Package
2nd: Henry Gingerich –  $2,156
3rd: Curt Smith – $1,509
4th: Ron Koenemann – $1,099
5th: Richard Thousand – $809
6th: Scott Belle – $604
7th: Andy Pryor – $485
